Most Common Kubota ECU Failures

No Start - No Ignition Signal (P0320, P0335)

Engine cranks but does not fire. No voltage on ignition coil primary terminals. Fault codes P0320 or P0335. Root cause: blown ignition driver transistor (Infineon BTS716G), failed CKP signal amplifier, or corrupted ignition map in EEPROM (Atmel AT24C256). Repair cost: 500-1200 PLN. Turnaround: 1-2 days.

No Voltage on Coils - Engine Cranks, No Spark (P0300)

Oscilloscope on coil primary shows flat signal on all cylinders. Coil primary voltage (pin 12 on ECU J1 connector) reads 0V instead of 11.5-12.5V with key ON. Root cause: blown multi-channel coil driver IC L9741 or IGBT transistor IRG4BC20F. Repair cost: 500-1000 PLN.

No Spark on One Coil - Misfire on One Cylinder (P0301-P0304)

Engine starts and runs rough, one cylinder not firing. Fault codes P0301, P0302, P0303 or P0304. Root cause: burned single channel of L9741 4-channel driver, or blown transistor Q6/Q7/Q8 (BUK9508). Repair: targeted component replacement, 350-700 PLN. Test: swap coils between cylinders - if fault stays on same cylinder, ECU is at fault.

No Throttle Control - Engine Stuck at Idle (P0122, P0638, E-03)

Kubota Tier 4 Final engines with electronic throttle: engine runs in limp-home mode at 1200 RPM only. Fault codes P0122, P0123, P0638, E-03 Throttle Actuator. Root cause: blown stepper motor driver IC A3977 or H-bridge driver L298N. Repair: IC replacement + TPS recalibration (0.45-4.55V full range). Cost: 600-1200 PLN.

Kubota V2403 - no spark on cylinder 2. How to confirm it is the ECU?
Swap the coil from cylinder 2 to cylinder 1. If the misfire stays on cylinder 2, the ECU is faulty (blown Q6 driver channel). If the misfire moves to cylinder 1, the coil is faulty. Check coil primary resistance: 0.3-1.5 Ohm and secondary: 6-30 kOhm.
