The PCM (Platform Control Module) is the central electronic unit of the machine — it controls platform movements, monitors operator safety, handles CAN J1939 communication, and processes signals from overload, angle and level sensors. JLG Modules and Controllers We Repair
Platform Control Module (PCM) — Main Machine Controller
The PCM is the central machine control module. It collects signals from all sensors, processes them and issues commands to hydraulic valves, motors and safety systems. It communicates with other modules over CAN J1939. We repair all PCM versions:
- JLG Part No. 1600292: PCM used in JLG 400–600 series boom platforms. Identifiable by housing with J2–J9 connectors on the sides, J7 (14-pin) connector, diagnostic LED. Failures: failed MOSFET outputs controlling hydraulic valves (IRF540N, IRFB4115), CAN bus fault — failed CAN transceiver MCP2551 or TJA1050, failed CPU board after battery surge, connector corrosion after moisture ingress. Repair: €320–780.
- JLG Part No. 1001097243: Newer PCM platform controller. Failures: failed PIC32/ARM Cortex-M microcontroller after surge, "Platform Not Level" error — failed ADC converter on tilt sensor signal, watchdog resetting module every 5 seconds.
- JLG Part No. 4360416: PCM for ES series scissor lifts (3246ES, 4069LE). Failures: failed relay outputs, burned MAXI 40A on-board fuse, "Tilt Sensor Fault" — failed tilt measurement channel.
- JLG Part No. 1001115623 / 1001115624: PCM for AJ series (800AJ, 1000AJP). Most common failures after overheating in summer conditions: burned MOSFET bridge, failed processor clock capacitors.
Ground Control Module (GCM) — Ground Panel Controller
The GCM handles the ground-level control panel — emergency control, safety interlocks. Failures: failed keypad membrane, failed digital inputs (flooding), CAN communication failure with PCM. Repair: €180–480.
ADE Module (Analyzer Diagnostic Electronics)
JLG ADE machine diagnostics and condition monitoring module. Records fault codes, manages overload limiters (load management). Failures: lost configuration after battery discharge, failed EEPROM with load calibration parameters, LMI communication fault.
Drive Control Module (DCM)
Drive motor controller (travel motors, electromagnetic brake). Used in electric scissor lifts (3246ES, 4069LE) and AC drive machines. Failures: failed IGBT transistors in drive bridge, "Drive Fault" after motor short circuit, failed wheel speed encoder.
