CAN J1939 Architecture in Magni Machines

  • Deutz TCD 3.6 L4: 55–110 kW, Stage V. RTH 4.16, RTH 5.18. ECU: Bosch EDC17CV56 or Delphi DCM3.7. Common faults: SPN 157 (injection pressure), SPN 110 (coolant temp), SPN 3216 (post-SCR pressure).
  • Deutz TCD 4.1 L4: 55–105 kW, Stage V. RTH 5.21, RTH 6.25. ECU: Bosch EDC17CV56. Typical ECU failures: injector driver damage after 24V surge, corrosion of 97-pin Deutsch connector.
  • Deutz TCD 6.1 L6: 110–200 kW, Stage V. RTH 6.34, HTH 10.10–HTH 20.10. ECU: Delphi DCM6.2 or Bosch EDC17CV54. Common issues: DPF regeneration (SPN 5356), EGR fault (SPN 2659), AdBlue quality fault (SPN 1234).
  • Deutz TCD 12.0 V6: 230–390 kW. RTH 7.55, HTH 24.11, HTH 27.11. ECU: Bosch EDC17CP05, 144-pin MCP connector. Failures: EGR actuator driver damage, NOx sensor fault (SPN 3216, 3226).
  • Deutz TCD 16.0 V8: 390–570 kW. HTH 30.12, HTH 35.12, HTH 50.14. ECU: Bosch EDC17CP05 heavy-duty. Characteristic failures: SCR efficiency fault (SPN 1234 FMI 31), DEF/AdBlue dosing system failure, burned injector output transistor after 24V supply surge.

FPT Industrial (Italy) — NEF and Cursor Series

  • FPT NEF 45 / NEF 67: 4- and 6-cylinder. Selected HTH 10.10, HTH 16.10. ECU: Bosch EDC7 or FPT Vector, 120-pin Amphenol connector.
  • FPT Cursor 9 / Cursor 13: Large 6-cylinder, 260–430 kW. HTH 30.12, HTH 35.12, HTH 50.14 (FPT versions). ECU: Bosch EDC17CP52 or FPT Vector 2.0. Failures: corrupted injection map after flash, DPF soot load fault, EGR system failure.

Mercedes-Benz (Germany) — OM Series

  • Mercedes OM 904 LA: 4-cylinder, 100–180 kW. Older generation Magni RTH. ECU: Bosch EDC15C, 55-pin Deutsch D-Sub connector.
  • Mercedes OM 926 LA: 6-cylinder, 185–260 kW. RTH 6.25, RTH 6.34 (older generations). ECU: Bosch EDC7UC31. Common failures: PCB damage after electrolytic capacitor failure, "ECM Communication Fault" (SPN 639 FMI 9).

ECU and CCU Failure Details

  • Engine ECU damage from 24V surge: 35–60V spikes (bad alternator, external devices, engine start) destroy ECU analog/digital inputs, injector output transistors (VNP10N07, DMOS), ADC converters and CAN comms.
